General Information

The Linksys SPA 3102 possesses the same VoIP-adapter functions as the PAP2T with the additional advantage of an integrated connection to conventional „hop-on, hop-off“ telephone network applications. Users of Linksys SPA 3102 can enhance the performance of their broadband telephone connections more than ever in relaying local calls from land-lines and mobile communications automatically to the VoIP-service and vice versa. Should the power supply to the adapter be interrupted or a connection to the internet not be possible, calls can be made through the traditional provider via FXO-connection.

A typical user calling from land-lines or mobile communications is able to reduce costs for long-distance calls and international calls or even to eliminate such costs in calling the Linksys SPA 3102 using a local phone number or in using a phone directly connected to the adapter. The highly developed authentication and intelligent relay integrated in Linksys SPA 3102 adapter will connect the caller via internet with the required destination phone number. As soon as Linksys SPA 3102 is used by one of the participants, calls can either be answered at once or relayed as a local call to a conventional land-line or mobile phone, legitimation for use of Linksys SPA 3102 provided.

The Linksys SPA 3102 features a POTS (Plain Old Telefon Service) FXS-port/connection, in order to establish a connection to existing analog phones and fax machines. In addition the Linksys SPA 3102 features a PSTN-FXO-port/connection, in order to establish a connection to a Telco- or PBX-line. Linksys SPA 3102 also features an ethernet interface, in order to establish a connection to a home or office network (LAN). The FXS- and FXO-lines of the Linksys SPA 3102 can be configured independently using the software. This configuration can be realized by the provider as well as by the user.
