Low price, easy to install and easy to use: this phone adapter connects conventional phones and fax machines with an IP-based data network. IP-telephony providers and companies can offer traditional as well as enhanced communication services through the customer's broadband internet connection or a local network (LAN).

Linksys PAP2T is equipped with two POTS (Plain Old Telephone Service) ports/connections, which can be used to connect existing analog phones, fax machines, PBX (private switch site) and telephone systems. Linksys PAP2T features an ethernet interface, so this IP-adapter can be used in local home- or office networks (LAN). Each SPA-service-line can be configured independently through software that is controlled by the provider and/or the end user.

With Linksys PAP2T customers and enterprises are enabled to secure and expand hitherto made investments in telecommunications like phones, conference speakerphones and fax machines. Furthermore migration to IP-telephony can be controlled through an extremely affordable and incremental investment.
